Hotel Design Notes: the South

Hotel Design Notes: the South

Since this trip is going to last 3 weeks, the hotel choices are generally on the budget side, but also generally pretty well researched through Tripadvisor.com Here's a roundup of some recent hotels:

Most Surprising: Hampton Inn & Suites Savannah Historic District. Hilton's value chain, Hamptons are generally reliable, clean accomodations. This one truly surprised me, from stone tiling in the shower to these elegant common spaces.

Best Effort: Microtel Inn Mobile/Daphne. This is my first time in a Microtel, which is supposed to be in the same class as Motel 6 and Travelodge. White-on-white linens and contrasting bed scarf. Very impressive!

Bathroom I'd Most Like to Have: Renaissance Pere Marquette New Orleans. Marble floors, subway tiles in the shower, calming mint green wallpaper (picture does not do it justice), and my favorite type of vanity - I want to live here!

McDecor: I-10 West part deux
