There really are a lot of butterflies at Iguazu Falls! I remember going to a special "butterfly show" at Cincinnati's Krohn Conservatory, and the density of butterflies flying around there was about 20% of Iguazu Falls. There are so many in some places, that you might find yourself swatting them away. I wonder why we routinely swat away moths, but not butterflies?

This one was really friendly, continually following me around, and landing on me even after I shook it off! Obviously DEET does not deter pretty butterflies!
