K

In Helsinki, I visited the Kiasma Museum of Contemporary Art, where there was an exhibit about situations and narrative in art which I quite liked. One of the pieces there was this 3-D sculpture of the word "ei." When I approached it, all round and white and cursive-y, my first thought was "awwwwwwww"!

See, "ei" means "egg" in Dutch, and I just thought it was so cute to spell the word egg in this way. Even the dot on the "i" is egg-shaped! Then I read the wall text and it's supposed to be in Finnish. "Ei" turns out to mean "no" or "nope" or "no way" in Finnish. Changes the feeling a bit, no?
