Toronto Eats: city snacking tour, Little India stop

Toronto Eats: city snacking tour, Little India stop

My friend knows me well; she took me on a tour of Toronto visiting the different neighborhoods, snacking in each one.

The first one we visited was Gerrard Street Bazaar, or Little India.

We ate at Udupi Palace, where we had two excellent snacks. The first was Pav Bhaji. Pav is pronounced like "pan," bread in many different languages. Here it indicated soft dinner rolls, which were buttered and toasted, and served with spicy lentils and raw chopped onion.

Then we had Dahi Chaat, which were fried puffs filled with potato and pickle and chopped with chutneys and sav, which were these fried shreds of dough. Delightful mix of textures and flavors!
