Sevilla Eats: El Rinconcillo
Near the Sevilla Setas (the big modern sculpture/observation deck that's totally incongruous with its surroundings) is El Rinconcillo, an old school tapas bar. I just loved the interior!
Having eaten dinner already, I just ordered spinach (with lots of cumin) and chickpeas. It's a typical Sevilla dish, and also very typical for Easter.
Besides having an awesome ambience, I loved their method of keeping the bar tab. They write on the bar your running tab in chalk, and then sum upwards when you want to pay.
When you leave, they just wipe clean for the next customer.
How very ecological! Also keeps the servers' mental math strong - everyone should practice their arithmetic like this!
