Spanish Lesson: CHURRERIA Perfumería

Spanish Lesson: CHURRERIA Perfumería

In Spanish, florería is where one buys flowers, perfumería is where you buy perfume.  So guess what one buys at a CHURRERIA?  CHURROS of course!

Hot chocolate and churros is a favorite wintertime treat in Spain, and I for sure was going to do as the Spanish do.  I ordered one order of churros, and unfortunately only realized later that it was possible to order a half portion!  At this churreria, the churros were not the crenelated tubes we are used to in the US, but rather an identical twin to Chinese crullers, 油条.

The hot chocolate is so thick it's served with a spoon.  You dip the churros into the chocolate - you can see the chocolate clinging majestically to the churro and not dripping!
