Trip Report: SFO-JFK

Trip Report: SFO-JFK

United 870, SFO-JFK is a p.s. flight, and I was lucky enough to get upgraded.

To start, there were cold almonds, and my usual water with lemon.  I was surprised by the cold nuts, since I thought the new United was going to adopt the old United's warm mixed nuts.

The starter of duck breast was excellent.  The salad was nice too, as it included fresh mozzarella and roasted red and yellow tomatoes.  However, it was supposed to be served with balsamic vinaigrette but was served with ginger sesame dressing which obviously didn't mesh well.

I chose the Tamale-filled breast of chicken, and was really impressed by its presentation in the corn husk, minimal sauce, and the artfully arranged grilled yucca sticks. Plus, the yucca sticks were amazingly spicy, which I liked.

To finish, two scoops of vanilla bean ice cream, which you could customize any way you want.  I chose the whipped topping, walnuts, and a bottle of Bailey's to pour on.  If the ice cream weren't frozen rock hard, it would have been a lot better.
