Ballabeni Ice Cream

Ballabeni Ice Cream

While walking around the area of the Pinakothek art museums, we wanted a snack and came upon this ice cream store called Ballabeni.

I had a scoop of mint and a scoop of torrone, and they always give you a spoonful of something extra "to taste." They serve them in these cool cone-bowls which I think are quite superior to regular ice cream cones because you can set them down and they reduce dripping. The ice cream was excellent, especially the chocolate!

So after dinner at Hofbrauhaus we took two trams to come back, and I had a whole scoop of the chocolate this time! What made it so awesome was its rich and silky texture; essentially it tasted like cold chocolate mousse. I also had a scoop of hazelnut, and some milk/fig/walnut to taste.

This is a very popular place - see how long the line is! Turns out it's been featured in German GQ a couple times, as well other publications.
