Trip Report: MUC-LHR-SFO part I

The return trip was an interesting routing - first a short flight MUC-LHR on Lufthansa, and then nonstop back to SFO on United.

The Lufthansa lounge in MUC truly felt exclusive. It wasn't so much the furnishings as it was the sharp, crisp suits worn by every passenger there (I guess business casual hasn't taken over Germany yet), and the constant cleaning and wiping up of tables by the staff.

I had my bircher muesli and smoothie, which I've now come to expect from Lufthansa Senator Lounges at breakfast time. There were also breads and cold cuts and cheeses, and a delicious white asparagus pasta salad. My only taste of asparagus this asparagus season in Europe!

On the short flight to LHR, we were served a well-portioned fruit salad (apples, cantaloupe, pineapple, grapes) and yogurt muesli. Just right for a light breakfast.

It was "back to earth" at the LHR Star Alliance Lounge, where seats were scarce and stained, and the dress was very casual.

Breakfast was very British, with "bacon," toast, that sausage which seems to be mainly filler but is quite tasty, and baked beans.
